The Day It Kicked In
By Turde Staines
James Vaughn was reading the two notices sent by Carterville City Hall,
he walked out the door and kicked a branch with his number 13 boot, sending the
branch so high in the air that Tom Dempsey would have been proud. Then Vaughn
uttered, "The Sons Of Bitches"! I'd say Vaughn was pretty upset.
Vaughn leaned up against his favorite tree and sat and thought it out.
He realized all these events were not coincidental, it took him back to another time
in his life when he "fought City Hall" and won, by that I mean he kept his dignity
and has never kissed ass to this day.
Vaughn thought back about how he stashed documents concerning a strange
accident he sustained July of 1985, in which he was never compensated for. Yes, he
got the records and sent copies all over America, he knew it would have been much too
easy for all his evidence to go up in flames. He had that much figured out at 20
years old.
He shot down the myths spewing from City Hall one by one, by documents.
In case you didn't know it, Vaughn survived a tractor accident in which he sustained
4 crushed vertebrae, and two ruptured discs. For 46 days he was paralyzed from the
waist down, he spent a total of 96 days in the hospital. His once 6'5 185 pound frame
was reduced to 6'3 and 115 pounds. It was a sad sight.
Sad thing about it, Vaughn was never compensated for the accident.
Although some members of City Hall were saying he did.
Vaughn soon learned how people will turn on other people for the love of
money, and for the sake of "brown nosing".
Vaughn learned who his friends were. Some friends Vaughn thought were
his enemies. In a way the tragic accident had been turned into a triumph in
ways.
Vaughn remembered how a year in his life, his world had changed.
Vaughn's favorite Uncle, his dad's brother Troy had dropped dead of a massive
coronary in 1981. His Uncle Troy was only 57. The following year his dad George
suffered a massive heart attack which damaged 85% of his heart. His dad almost died
but survived. Vaughn remembered all the friends that stood by his dad, and he
remembered the ones that "stabbed him in the back". Some "friends" had been flat on
their back and Vaughn's dad helped to get them on their feet. One particular "friend"
used a damn butcher knife to use on Vaughn's dad, Vaughn never forgot the cold
blooded nature of this demon who had no heart.
Vaughn remembered hearing the laughter when he found out who Santa Claus
really was. Vaughn's dad had got an Air Hockey wedged in between the family
room door and it woke the younger Vaughn, Vaughn sat there amazed, seeing
Santa face to face. Those were the days...
Vaughn remembered how his dad had drawn up the original
charter to create a baseball program to keep the kids off the streets.
Vaughn remembers the hours his dad put into the program, how it blossomed, and how in
the mid 80's his dad felt "educated idiots were ruining a good thing" and washed his
hands with the program. What the heck, his dad was dying, why waist precious time on
a bunch of idiots!
Vaughn remembered a threat made against his family, namely his dad in
1986. Vaughn remembered looking the cold hearted beast in the face, shoving the tip
of his cane to the Adam's apple and telling the tyrant, "Do it, I'll come looking for
you". Yes, Vaughn remembers dealing with cut throats, and this latest attack was no
different, it was just in a different era.
Vaughn remembered the last days of his dad. He remembered the bitter
sting of death. Seeing his dad dead in a Veteran's Hospital bed was tough on Vaughn.
Vaughn was 22, his dad was 65 and dead. It was all over before it got started it
seemed.
Vaughn looked back at 1988, when a life threatening brain surgery in
Memphis, Tenn., saved his life. Vaughn remembered shaking for 30 days after the
surgery, for brain surgery is a major trauma on the human body. Vaughn remembered
when the shaking and trembling stopped. "All Things Must Pass".
Vaughn remembered in 1990, when a medication he was taking to stop the
blood from clotting actually caused his heart to fail. Three days in a Coronary Care
Unit, Vaughn pulled through, again, "All Things Must Pass".
Vaughn remembered when his Mother had 99% heart blockage and was rushed
to Springfield, Illinois for open heart surgery. Some doubted she would pull through,
some family members abandoned her, not Vaughn, he stayed in Springfield to be there
with her for support. God only knows how he managed to stay up there, but he did. His
Mom survived and came back home, in fact still living at the time of this writing.
She's underwent three more heart surgeries since!
Vaughn remembers his Mom driving the school bus, working the concession stand in the
hot summers. The days way before the air conditioned concession stand. Vaughn wonders
if others remember that. Vaughn's Mom is legally blind now, congestive heart failure,
and crippled from an artificial hip.
Of course Vaughn remembers all the friends that have passed away, too
numerous to name. October 1, is not a good day for Vaughn. Last May opened an old
wound for sure.
Vaughn remembers a cold winter early morning in 1999, when his mother
insisted he drive her 329 miles north to see her son. When Vaughn and his mom got to
the door, Mom Vaughn's eldest son was dead. He had died 10 minutes before Vaughn and
his Mother had got there. Mom's are wise.
Then May 12, 2003 the phone rang in the early morning. Mom Vaughn's
Grandson had asked to speak to Vaughn. Mom Vaughn's Grandson Rusty had died the night
before unexpectedly from a heart attack at age 42. This was a devastating blow. Rusty
understood Vaughn, Vaughn understood Rusty. They could communicate without speaking.
Some remarked the two had some kind of "spiritual connection", have you ever looked
at Vaughn and a picture of Rusty? You'd think they were related or something,
wouldn't you?
Vaughn was reminded again of cold hearted beasts from Hell the evening
of Rusty's funeral. Vaughn and his Mom made the long trip home, had dinner in Herrin,
Illinois, and came on home. As Jim was leading his Mom in the home, he asked her to
not worry about the bags, they would get them in the morning, she had in her hand a
flower from Rusty's funeral, Jim had shirts in one hand, guiding his mother in with
the other hand.
As Jim walked through the kitchen he heard his Mom fall, he dropped
shirts and tried to catch her, but he just couldn't get to her in time. Jim got on
the phone and called the ambulance. Jim heard a pop, he almost knew a hip was broke.
he kept his Mom calm until the ambulance crew got there. The female (MJF) yelled
at Jim, "What did you do, push her"? Before Jim had a chance the other attendant
(DB) said, "(MJ)"! When the ambulance loaded his Mom, Jim was tailing close
behind. Scared for the life of his Mom, and pissed off at MJF's accusation. When
Jim walked through the Emergency Room entry, he was stopped by a black doctor. The
Black Doctor said, "We need to examine you"!
Jim was worried about his Mom, but the doctor and some nurses were more
concerned with looking at Jim's arms, he was asked to take his shirt off, he did.
Showing his arms, chest, neck, Jim screamed out, "Are you looking for defense
wounds? What is the matter with you damned idiots anyway? Get in there and
tend to my Mom"! The doctor noted no defense wounds were found on Jim's body
whatsoever. The "demon from hell" MJF had made a false accusation, and it
actually put his Mom's life in more jeopardy! Is it any wonder why MJF would make
such an accusation, if you drink from the same well as City Hall, you are bound to be
"poisoned" sure enough she was!
Jim ran to his Mom and was holding her arm, she was diabetic and he was
holding her elbow that struck the table on her way down in the fall. Blood was
pouring everywhere. As MJF walked by the doorway, with a smirk on her face she
exclaimed, "You have blood on your hands"! Jim, not concentrating on the witch's
accusation, said, "Yeah, get a doctor in here, her arm is busted wide open, she's
diabetic you know--now get the hell away from me"! It had set in what MJF was
insinuating. (Shortly after, Jim seen to it MJF would never enter Vaughn property
under any circumstance). That just shows you the cold hearted nature of some so
called human beings connected to City Hall.
Vaughn had to make a tough decision, after consulting with the doctor, a
surgeon was called and Jim's Mom underwent hip replacement surgery. It was a long
road back. Some guessed she would never make it. Some family members abandoned her.
Not Jim. She's home and doing good as expected. But someone is putting the screws to
her, and neither Mom Vaughn nor Jim is going to take it. I'm interested to see where
this ends.
I guess I went into detail to let you know "The Nature of The
Beast" the Vaughn's are fighting. this is nothing new to the Vaughn's. This is
the very mark of a coward's ways of trying to hurt someone, even if it costs them
their home. The coward is not man enough to meet Jim on a back street or country road
somewhere, he's not man enough to fight Jim like a man. So it's being done by "Rumor
and Innuendo". Who was it that said, "It's against the law to kill a man's body,
but his soul is fair game"! You'd be surprised!
The Vaughn's will survive this latest attack, you can bet someone is
giving orders "behind the scenes". Is this all because Jim Vaughn stands for Liberty,
Freedom, Justice, Equality? Before you fall for a lie, go straight to the
source, people are finding out by the multitudes they were deceived by the powers
that be. Why do you think certain people are "black-balling" this site? Ask
yourself where you found out about this site....I can bet you it wasn't in the
mainstream media!
Vaughn is keeping active, he recently was featured when he debated
Senator Dick Durbin on the unPatriot Act, which was covered in the American Free
Press.
Stay tuned, more chapters yet to come in a beautiful life, the life of
James Vaughn!
