To Mr. Jim Vaughn:
From: A "Concerned Citizen Of The United States"
I would like to thank you for your wonderful insight into the
"corruption" of this great country. Also as a former Cartervillian looking in from
the outside I can see the concerns and problems of citizens like you happening all
over this great nation. Seems the so called leaders of our small towns are taking a
lesson from our national leaders and really don't "give a damn" about the average
American or taxpayer so much as thinking, "I'm in office and I'll do as I Want" For
some unknown reason our leaders and please forgive me for saying this, but also a lot
of Americans have lost our common sense and perhaps afraid to either see what is
going on around them or have the thinking of "out of site, out of mind" mentality.
The problem here though is that if we are not aware and do not take a look we get hit
from behind and then ask ourselves, what happened? I must say with all sincerity that
I am proud to have lived in Carterville and would not have changed a thing. I was one
of the lucky ones. But after watching from afar and reading your columns and blogs I
have some very dear concerns for all there. I just read the article my Average Joe
about someone who lived on his part of town and made promises but once elected forgot
all the promises they made and perhaps also forgot who it was that put them there,
but should also remember that those who put you in office can also put you out of
office. Just another proof of the old cliques' "if you aren't crooked before you get
in you are once you get in" or perhaps "birds of feather flock together".
One thing I can remember quite well though is the fact it seems that one
thing about politics in Carterville has never changed. Rules are made for only a
select few, including hiring practices, but I suppose as the rule maker you can bend
them as needed?
Fair is fair and rules and laws are made for all. And should be enforced
as such. Also, please let me quote from the bible a well known quote from Jesus. "Let
he who is without sin cast the first stone" In other words, before a citation is
given, make sure that your own house is in order and not of the same violation for
whom you wish to prosecute.
Hopefully I have helped to open a few eyes to those that read the
articles here.
I will be keeping my eyes upon your work Mr. Vaughn and on the
happenings in Carterville. As time allows I will post more. Bless you and your work.
"Let's Take Back America, Starting With Our Towns and Cities"!
Sincerely,
A "Concerned Citizen Of The United States"
